Emily and Joey’s wedding at Virginia Tech War Memorial Chapel and the German Club of Virginia Tech was the absolute best way to have spent my New Year’s Eve… not because of all the sparkle and Great Gatsby style fun we had (and there was lots of it!) but because of the absolute joy it was to be around this wonderful couple and their families.  The first time I found myself sitting with Emily and her mom and sister I felt like I was sitting around with family…. and to watch Emily and Joey smile and laugh with each other is a reminder of what Love really looks like.   Can we do this again next year?!

So thank you Emily and Joey for getting this frumpy ol’ mama of two littles, off the couch for New Year’s and letting me join you all on the dance floor!  Thank you for allowing me to watch a little bit of your love story unfold during a memorable and magical New Year’s!  It has been an honor to be apart of such a joyous time in your life… and I can’t wait to see what is in store for you and your cute little fur baby family 🙂

PS. I can’t believe my 2016 wedding season has come and gone… and somehow I’ve managed to not even blog half of the weddings I had the honor of attending… so… here I’m starting with my last hooray of 2016 and will be moving backwards to celebrate and share about my 2016 brides!  Each and every wedding was so special to be apart of and my heart is just bursting with pride for being invited into so many wedding celebrations this year… I can’t wait for 2017!

Jackie and Cassidy’s wedding at Rippon Lodge was full of so much laughter and adorably sweet moments. These two self professed “adorkable” souls were so much fun to be around… I mean seriously… I’m pretty sure I caught Jackie licking Cassidy’s face a time or two with everyone falling into a fit of giggles. I first met Jackie when she was in middle school and I was her camp counselor at The Jeremiah Project (my other side job :)),… never in a million years would I have thought I’d be invited back into her life and stand amongst her friends and family as she married her best friend! When Jackie and I first talked on the phone about her wedding she shared with me that her wedding would be a labor of love – from growing her own flowers (which were peppermint!) to sewing and designing her blush dress (YES… REALLY!!!) and even playing with her band!! All of her hard work and the love of her family and friends all came together perfectly on this summer (hot!) day… and it is one that I will always cherish having been apart of!

From the girls in their burgundy dresses and cowboy boots to the gentlemen in their handsome vests and jeans…Katie & Caleb’s wedding at Sinkland Farms was the perfect setting for a sweet country wedding. The clouds were rolling through all day with brilliant sun one moment to ominous clouds the next. It rained at one point so hard you couldn’t talk to the person next to you over the sounds of the rain beating on the old metal roof at Sinkland.  The music played and everyone danced and swayed to Country Roads until the skies cleared and we could wish Katie & Caleb all the love in the world under a sky of stars and a banner of sparklers and cheers.   It truly was a magical afternoon and evening with these two kind hearted souls! I hope you’ll enjoy their wedding day story and get lost in these moments!
